Wood from tree species other than Japanese cypress arrived. I would like to try carving them. I only have experience carving cypress wood. I want to enjoy trying out the different colors, textures, carving responses, and wood grains of each. Tree species names are in the comment.

Japanese big leaf magnolia (hoo/朴)

ひのき以外の樹種の木材が到着しました。早速、彫り試してみたいと思います。今まではひのきしか彫った経験がありません。それぞれの色や質感、彫り応え、そして木目の違いを試しながら楽しみたいです。
