I was concerned about a large knot on the back, so I started carving while keeping an eye on it. Even soft wood has hard parts around the knot near the core. However, as I expected, there is an interesting concentric grain of wood here.

背面に位置する大きな節が気掛かりなので、様子を見ながら彫り始めました。柔らかい木材でも、芯のそばにある節の周辺には硬い部分があります。しかし期待していたとおりに、ここには同心円状の興味深い木目があります。
