I started carving this piece thinking that there was a 50/50 chance of success, but so far so good. I'm chiselling while reading the cracks as well as the grain of the wood. Then, all of a sudden, something happened. The tip of the branch on the right side broke off!

成功の確率は半々だと考えながら彫り始めたこの作品ですが、今のところ順調です。木目だけではなく、割れをも読みながら叩いています。そこに突然、何かが起こりました。右端の枝の先端が折れてしまいました！
