Because it is a very hard wood, I wondered if I had chosen a piece of wood that was too large for my first project using wild cherry wood. With each carving, the callus on my palm gets bigger. But I gradually came to understand how to deal with it.

とても硬い木材なので、初めて山桜材を使うにしては大きすぎる木材を選んでしまったかなと考えていました。彫り進めていくごとに、手のひらの豆が大きくなる。しかしながら山桜との向き合い方が少しずつ分かってきました。
