The more I carve, the more the wood grain becomes apparent. I enjoy carving a large space inside. However, compared to zelkova and cherry wood, hinoki wood is brittle depending on the direction of the grain, so I will hold off on carving it out until the final finishing touches.

彫れば彫るほど明らかになってくる木目の動きを楽しみながら、内部に大きな空間を彫り進めています。しかしひのき材は欅材や桜材と比較すると木目の向きによっては脆いので、追い込むのは最後の仕上げまでお預けです。
