When carving both sides, two knots appeared. One of them looks large. I won't know how deep it is until I continue carving. I am looking forward to seeing if I can leave these in place, they may add a special flavor to the work.

両サイドを彫っていると、節が2つあらわれてきました。そのうちのひとつは大きく見えます。それがどのくらい根深いのかは彫り進めてみなければ分かりません。ひょっとするとこれらを残せたら、作品の味わいのひとつとなるかもしれないので楽しみです。
