At times I seriously wondered if I would be able to finish it, but finally the overall picture came into view. When I think of the years this zelkova has lived, the time I have spent carving it feel like just a moment.

時には無事に仕上がるのだろうかと真剣に考えたこともありましたが、ついに大まかな全体像が見えてきました。この欅が生きてきた年月を思うと、わたしが彫るために費やした時間はほんの一瞬です。
