Before it became too late, I started carving from the bottom. I wanted to penetrate the large internal space early on. I continued carving, thinking about the feelings of the woodpeckers, and soothing the screams from the muscles in my right arm, and finally, I saw the light.

取り返しがつかないことになる前に、底からも彫り始めることに決めました。大きな内部空間を早い段階で貫いておきたい。キツツキたちの気持ちを考えながら、右腕の筋肉からの悲鳴をなだめ続けて、ついに光が見えました。
