As I gradually carved out the internal space, I realized how effective the flat chisels were. This piece taught me that the use of familiar tools changes depending on the type of wood, the design, and the carving technique.

内部空間を少しずつ広く彫り進めていく中で、鑿の平刀が大きな効力を発揮することに気付きました。樹種、デザイン、彫り方が変われば、使い慣れた道具の使い途も変わることを、この作品が気付かせてくれました。
