LINEThe work process from design to carving, painting, and completion is posted on YouTube. At first, I felt that the wood was very heavy and large for my hands, even if I could just hold it. When wood is this thick, it tends to crack when it dries, which limits the parts that can be used for carving the shape I pursue. Therefore, I continued carving while looking at the many layers of beautiful wood grain patterns and feeling deeply grateful for the connection that brought this Japanese cypress to me.
デザインから彫刻、塗装、完成までの作業工程をYoutubeに掲載しています。最初は抱えるだけでも自分の手には大変重く大きく感じた木材でした。これだけ厚みの大きな木材になると、乾燥時に割れが入りやすく、追求している形状の彫刻にとっては使うことのできる部分は限られます。そのため、その幾重にも連なる美しい木目模様を眺めながら、このひのきが自分のところに来てくれた縁に深く感謝しながら彫り進めました。
Being able to obtain wood with such depth has greatly expanded what I can represent. This allows me to explore the freedom of expression of branches with more movement.
これほどの深みのある木材を手に入れることができるようになったことで、表現できることが大きく広がりました。より動きのある枝々の自由な表現を探求できるようになりました。
It may not be possible to carve the design exactly as I envisioned the wood with knots. However, I believe that knots that fit well in a specific location become part of the design of the work, and sometimes serve to enhance the design.
節がある木材は、思い描いたデザインのままに彫ることができない場合もあります。しかしうまくその箇所に収まってくれるような節はその作品のデザインの一部となり、時にはデザインを引き立てる役割を持つ場合もあると考えます。

The sculpture is made from a single piece of wood, and it is the only one of its kind in the world. The wood grown for sustainable forestry is used. The 'KIDEKIWHORU' logo is engraved on it. The paint is safe because it is made from natural materials and it doesn't almost smell. Depending on each monitor, the colors may differ slightly from the actual work.
この彫刻はひとつの木材から作られており、世界にひとつだけのものです。持続可能な森林づくりを目指して栽培された木材が使用されております。KIDEKIWHORUのロゴマークが彫られています。塗料は天然素材なのでにおいもほとんどなく安全です。各モニターにより実際の作品と多少色が異なる場合がございます。
