LINEI realized that the large crack running from top to bottom was deeper than I had expected. However, I told myself that I must not be impatient. I wanted to make the most of this cypress that had come to me.
As the internal space widened, the four undulating and twisting branches began to move independently and freely. My mind also became freer. I want the branches to dance with light, graceful movements. But I must not break or damage them in order to do so. By observing the movement of the wood grain, I will continue to go through trial and error in order to fulfil this contradictory desire.
上部から下部まで走る大きな亀裂は、予想以上に深かったことに気づきました。しかし焦ってはいけないと自分に言い聞かせました。わたしのところに来てくれたこのひのきを、最大限に活かしたいと思いました。
内部空間が広がるにつれ、うねり、ねじれながら伸びる4本の枝々は、それぞれが自由に動きはじめました。わたしの心もより自由になりました。枝々が軽やかに、優雅に舞うようにしたい。しかしながらそのためには枝を折ったり傷つけたりしてはいけません。木目の動きを観察しながら、この矛盾した願いを叶えるために試行錯誤を続けていきます。
It made me realize that in order for me to make them dance freely, it is not only the external space that matters, but also the shape and size of the internal space that matters.
自由に踊らせるためには、外部空間だけではなく内部空間の形状や広さによるところも大きいことに気付かせてくれました。
The light in the darkness makes the curves and undulations of the branches move in a new and interesting way.
暗闇の中での光は、枝々の曲線たちや起伏たちがそれまでとは異なる興味深さを持つ動きを見せてくれます。
The spotlight in the darkness highlights the gentle color of the cypress wood in a golden hue.
暗闇の中のスポットライトは、檜のやさしい色を黄金色に際立たせます。
In natural light, the grain and color of the hinoki wood, as well as the undulations I created, show a gentle look.
自然光の中では、ひのきの木目やその色、施された起伏たちがやさしい表情を見せます。

The sculpture is made from a single piece of wood, and it is the only one of its kind in the world. The wood grown for sustainable forestry is used. The 'KIDEKIWHORU' logo is engraved on it. The paint is safe because it is made from natural materials and it doesn't almost smell. Depending on each monitor, the colors may differ slightly from the actual work.
