This is my first work using zelkova wood. The deep and dark color, the grain, the feel of the carving, and the way the edge of the chisel enters the wood are fascinating to me. Until I carved this work, I had only carved cypress wood, so I feel like the door to a bright new world has opened.

欅材での初めての作品となります。深く濃い色や木目、彫りごたえ、鑿の刃先の入り方において大きな魅力を感じます。この作品を彫るまでは、ひのきしか彫ったことのない自分にとって、輝く新たな世界への扉が開かれたように感じています。

Hard zelkova wood is very difficult and time consuming to carve. I was confused by the hard nature of the wood. However, I realized that hardness has the great advantage of being strong, and giving me peace of mind that it will not break or crack easily while I am carving.

硬いケヤキは彫ることがとても大変で時間がかかります。その硬い木質には戸惑いました。しかし、硬いということは強度が高く、彫っているときに折れたり割れたりしないという安心感があるという大きな利点があることに気づきました。

I feel that things that cannot be represented with cypress wood can be represented with zelkova wood, and things that cannot be represented with zelkova wood can be represented with cypress wood. I would like to create works that take advantage of the characteristics of each tree species.

ひのきでは表現することができないことがケヤキでは表現することができ、ケヤキでは表現することができないことがひのきでは表現できるような気がしています。それぞれの樹種の特性を生かした作品を作っていきたいと思います。

The sculpture is made from a single piece of wood, and it is the only one of its kind in the world. The wood grown for sustainable forestry is used. The 'KIDEKIWHORU' logo is engraved on it. The paint is safe because it is made from natural materials and it doesn't almost smell. Depending on each monitor, the colors may differ slightly from the actual work.

この彫刻はひとつの木材から作られており、世界にひとつだけのものです。持続可能な森林づくりを目指して栽培された木材が使用されております。KIDEKIWHORUのロゴマークが彫られています。塗料は天然素材なのでにおいもほとんどなく安全です。各モニターにより実際の作品と多少色が異なる場合がございます。
