REVIVE

The fact that a single work can be perceived as a completely different piece depending on how it's displayed is a unique pleasure of three-dimensional sculpture. I feel the same way when I am sculpting.

ひとつの作品が、置き方次第でまったく異なるものとして感じられるというのは、立体彫刻ならではの醍醐味です。わたし自身、彫刻中にも同じような感覚を覚えます。

Is the part the trunk, or a root? Why did it take that shape? Trees with such shapes, which we cannot understand, are the result of inevitable formation over long periods of time as they live.

その部分は幹なのか、根なのか、なぜそのようなかたちになったのか。わたしたちには分からないそのような形状を持つ樹木は、生きている過程で長い年月をかけて必然的に形成されてきた結果だ。

The deep, distinct curves of the winter wood grain become even more striking when I carve them to a gentle depth, revealing their elegant dance. Naturally, the direction in which the carving is done also plays a significant role.

冬の木目たちの濃く明瞭な曲線たちは、緩やかな深さに彫ることで、よりその美しさが際立ち、彼らの優雅な踊りを見せてくれます。それは当然のことながら、その木材に対して彫られる向きも大きく関わってきます。

The sculpture is made from a single piece of wood, and it is the only one of its kind in the world. The wood grown for sustainable forestry is used. The 'KIDEKIWHORU' logo is engraved on it. The paint is safe because it is made from natural materials and it doesn't almost smell. Depending on each monitor, the colors may differ slightly from the actual work.
