Bold undulating branches that cover the upper part from the front. I had to carve deeper than I had imagined in advance to get the shape I envisioned. One of the fun things about sculpture is to experience the gap between imagination and reality.

正面から上部を覆うようにした大胆な起伏を伴う枝々。あらかじめ想像していた以上に深く彫らなければ、思い描いていた形状になりませんでした。その想像と現実の間を実体験を持って体感することが彫刻の面白さのひとつてす。

There was only a limited narrow little space for me to reach deep into the inner space with the tips of my chisels to carve it. In order to carve that difficult part, I tried to see how much space and gap I could have to achieve it.

内部空間を彫るために、その奥深くへ鑿たちの刃先を届けるには、限られた狭く小さな空間しかありませんでした。その困難な箇所を彫るために、どの程度の空間や隙間があればそれを実現することができるかを試してみました。


In shooting with a black background, I enjoyed the prominence of light and shadow by shining a spotlight on the finely carved part of the front.

黒の背景を用いた撮影では、正面の造形を細かく彫った部分にスポット光を当てることにより、光と影の際立ちを楽しみました。

The sculpture is made from a single piece of wood, and it is the only one of its kind in the world. The wood grown for sustainable forestry is used. The 'KIDEKIWHORU' logo is engraved on it. The paint is safe because it is made from natural materials and it doesn't almost smell. Depending on each monitor, the colors may differ slightly from the actual work.
